“Purple Mangaves” is an original plein air painting. “I was drawn to the purple of the Mangaves and the wispy, almost neon green of the back trees. This color palette felt very perfect for the month I was painting in – October. There are pops of orange, too. The view is left of the pond facing towards the Garden’s entrance. The shade structure that protects the more sensitive plants peaks through the top third of the painting. There is so much drama in these beautiful plants, and I am drawn to how they interact on the canvas.”-Teresa
