About the Artist
Goodson Mlera was born in Harare in 1988 and began sculpting at age eleven, inspired by the stone works of Luxon Gutsa. He committed to the craft full time in 2006, working in the hardest springstone available — a choice that reflects his belief that the messages he carves should endure. His work is held in private collections worldwide and his reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s most gifted younger sculptors continues to grow.
