Introduction to Ikebana for Children

Sunday, March 29 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

$8.00 – $15.00

Young  artists (ages 8–18) are invited to learn the basics of ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arrangement during this drop-in workshop. Participants will explore the out in the Garden exhibition, discover foundational design principles, and create their own arrangement in a hands-on, creative experience.

This class is offered in conjunction with ArtScapes in the Garden, a special exhibition at the Ruth Bancroft Garden, presented in collaboration with San Francisco’s Sogetsu School of Ikebana. The exhibit features large-scale floral installations throughout the Garden made from materials in our living collection, with additional works by principal members of the Sogetsu San Francisco Bay Area Branch on view in the Great Room.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This is a drop-in event. Registrants are welcome to arrive between 10:00 am & 11:00 am.

Cancellation and refund policies can be found here.
