The Ruth Bancroft Garden is a glorious mosaic of colors, shapes and patterns! In this outdoor workshop, you’ll learn how to capture some of the magic on location (“en plein air”) with the versatile and expressive medium of acrylic paint. We’ll start with a demonstration, then you’ll create your own painting with the instructors’ help and engagement.

The instructor for this class, Nancy Roberts, will be the Garden’s Fall 2024 Artist in Residence. Nancy is a professional artist, educator, arts community volunteer and retired architect based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She exhibits her work in several galleries, participates in regional shows and plein air events, organizes paint-outs for the Contra Costa Plein Air group, presents demonstrations for art associations and teaches painting workshops. Her work has garnered many awards and is included in public and private collections across the country.
