(Webinar) Going Gondwanan (Part 2)- Aussie & S. African Plants in Your Garden

Thursday, May 7, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

$10.00 – $15.00

Please note that this will be a live, webinar workshop (offered via Zoom) and not a lecture at the garden. After registration (see below), you will receiver further instructions from the Program Coordinator prior to the workshop date. Registration will close on 7 May 2020 at 8am.

Following the “Gondwanan, Part 1” webinar, we’ll discuss how to create an environment for the Australian and South African plants to not only survive but thrive in our gardens. We’ll cover topics such as soils, irrigation, and drainage. Fertilizers and soil pH are key factors for a healthy garden so we’ll delve into these as well as ongoing maintenance to keep the plants happy and your garden looking sharp. Large gardens are giving way to smaller courtyards and balconies so we’ll cover container growing also.

Troy McGregor, a former nursery manager at the Ruth Bancroft Garden, is the owner of Gondwana Flora as a Landscape Contractor and Nurseryman based in Martinez, CA. He has been growing, selling and installing plants since relocating from Australia to the Bay Area in 2006.
