(webinar for kids) Can you SEED it?
Wednesday, June 10 @ 9:00 am - 9:30 am$10 – $15
9 June 2020- Due to low enrollment, this webinar/class has been CANCELLED. Stay tuned for more children’s programming on our website.
Please note that this will be a live, webinar workshop (offered via Zoom) and not a lecture at the garden. After registration (see below), you will receive further instructions from the Children’s Education Manager prior to the workshop date. Registration will close on 10 June 2020 at 8am.
In the first webinar for kids, it is all about seeds; the smallest, the oldest, the biggest, and how a seed develops when you plant it. And did you know that you have seeds all around you at home? You will get instructions on how to go on a Seed Safari without leaving your house. Marie will also show you, step by step, how you can turn a soda bottle into a self-watering pot to grow seeds in. This zoom session wants to encourage kids to look around and find seeds around them and discover the magic of watching a seed grow into a plant.
Join Marie Gelin, Children’s Education Manager at the Ruth Bancroft Garden, in the first of a series of summer morning webinars for kids. Each webinar will include a short introduction of a topic, give some ideas for activities and instructions for a project you can make with materials easily found at home. The sessions are a fun and lighthearted way to introduce plant related topics to children. Participants will receive an email with material list and written instructions for each project. So, no need for note taking during the webinar! At the end of each session there will be time for Marie to answer any questions participants might have. The webinars are suitable for children 8-11 years old.
