The Garden and the Mt. Diablo Iris Society are co-hosting an exclusive experience for visitors to immerse themselves in a diverse array of Ruth’s heirloom iris collection, celebrated for its vibrant colors and unique hybrids. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to visit the private Bancroft property with a short, guided tour from Mt. Diablo Iris Society members. Ruth Bancroft’s love of plants was sparked with irises during her childhood where she cultivated a collection in her Berkeley garden. When she moved to Walnut Creek, her iris obsession continued.

Mt. Diablo Iris Society, an affiliate of the American Iris Society, celebrated their 64^th anniversary. You can find out more information about this nonprofit organization here.

Registration will include Garden admission. Visitors can visit the Ruth Bancroft Garden at their own pace before or after the short iris tour. Please note that the Garden closes at 4pm.
