The Garden and the Mt. Diablo Iris Society are co-hosting an exclusive experience for visitors to immerse themselves in a diverse array of Ruth’s heirloom iris collection, celebrated for its vibrant colors and unique hybrids. Thanks to a generous invitation from the Bancroft family, Visitors will have the rare opportunity to visit their private property with a short, guided tour from Mt. Diablo Iris Society members. Ruth Bancroft’s love of plants was sparked by irises during her childhood, when she cultivated a collection in her Berkeley garden. When she moved to Walnut Creek, her iris obsession continued.

Registration will include Garden admission. Visitors can visit the Ruth Bancroft Garden at their own pace before or after the short iris tour. Cancellation and refund policy can be found here.

Tuesday’s we are usually closed, but will open the Garden for iris tour visitors, however the nursery will be closed.
