Discover how to “zero in” on a subject, focusing on the intricate details of the Ruth Bancroft Garden. This workshop will guide you in the art of truly seeing and translating nature’s beauty onto paper. Our Artist-in-Residence, Mary Lou Correia, will walk you through the Garden, and share her techniques for capturing form, texture, and light, transforming your observations into beautiful sketches.

Materials Needed (Please bring the following):

• Small sketchbook
• Soft pencils or felt pens (for emphasizing shadow and light)
• Phone to photograph your chosen subject
• If you would like to paint your subject after the sketching portion of the workshop, please bring your own compact painting materials, watercolor, or oil. (Please note, that easels are not allowed and paint supplies must be disposed/cleaned off-site)
