(Offsite class) Field Trip: Wholesale Nursery
Friday, October 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
$15.00 – $30.00
March 2023 update: This class is SOLD OUT. To be put on the waitlist, please contact alice@ruthbancroftgarden.org
Join us for a field trip to a wholesale nursery and learn about the ins and outs of plant selection, ordering and setting up deliveries. This well-organized nursery serves landscape professionals who hold accounts with the business. There will be a brief orientation covering the layout of the grounds, how to apply for an account, how to work with this nursery, and Q&A. Participants will then be given a map and suggested things to think about while there. After this, you’ll be free to wander around and check things out. Jennifer De Graaf, landscape architect (Lic. #5461), will be available to answer questions for the whole class time. Whatever path you are considering in the landscape industry, seeing how the wholesale plant sourcing side works can be very helpful.
Requirements:
- Register and watch Choose Plants like a Pro
- Students must provide their own transportation to this San Ramon nursery
- Be able to stay on your feet and walk for one hour during the outdoor class.
Please note that this will be an offsite class and not a lecture at the Garden. After registration (see below), you will receive instructions and address from the Program Director one day prior to the lecture. Registration will open 14 Jan 2023 and close on 11 October 2023 at 8am. This class is part of the Dry Garden Design Certificate Program series.
