Oak-tober Fest Family Day

Sunday, October 26, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

OAK-TOBER Fest is an educational celebration that highlights the special relationship of plants and people (be it food, drink, dye, medicine, art, ritual and survival) and the joy of the harvest season.

The day will include hands-on demonstrations, crafts, vendors, and food.

  • Visit the exhibit on plants in our collection that hold special roles in the lives of people (be it food, drink, dye, medicine, etc).
  • Shop from unique vendors who mesh the botanical world with their arts and crafts.
  • Kids can do some make and take crafts, and hunt for hiding pumpkins out in the Garden!
  • Starting at 11 am and every 30 minutes till 1:30 pm, we’ll be screening the documentary, The Garden of Secrets: A botanical garden isn’t just a garden filled with plants – it is a garden of ideas. Explore how botanical gardens and the “secrets” they house can inspire lasting impact on people, society and the environment.

And with Halloween just around the corner, those coming in costume (or with a dog in costume!) will be entered into a drawing to win fun prizes!

Events in the Plaza and Great Room are free to the public. If you wish to enter the Garden, admission is required.

Hope you can join us!
