(Lecture) Meet the Protea Family- Selections, Care & Maintenance

Saturday, December 16, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$15.00 – $30.00

The Bay Area is a great place to grow members of the Proteaceae (Protea) family such as Leucospermum, Leucadendron and Protea from South Africa and Banksia and Grevillea from Australia. Long valued by florists for their stunning array of colors, shapes and long vase life, these plants are well-adapted to our summer-dry climate. Join Troy McGregor, owner of Gondwana Flora (a design-build landscaping company), for an informative in-person lecture about Proteaceae plants (and other complimentary plants from the Gondwanan region) and learn about his favorite options for local gardens. He’ll go over essential tips for soil preparation and planting techniques that will help you succeed with these plants. The cooler months are the perfect time to #pluginsomeprotea and dial up your garden game.
