Introduction to ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement)
Saturday, October 5 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$65 – $75
Suiei Sensei will give a brief history of ikebana and the various forms of ikebana. She will then demonstrate some basic ikebana lessons with branches and flowers, then move onto using materials that you would be able find in a dry garden like the plant collection at the Ruth Bancroft Garden . Participants will then have time to work on their own arrangements with the assistance of Suiei Sensei.
The class fee includes a ceramic container, pin frog and plant materials. You will be asked to bring your own garden clippers. Actual arrangements may vary depending on what is available at the time of the class.
Please note that registration will be closed on 2 October 2019 for this workshop.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations up to 1-week prior to a class are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 1-week prior to a class are non-refundable. The Ruth Bancroft Garden does not issue credits for future classes.
