Garden Buds – April Program
Wednesday, April 3 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am
$45.00 – $70.00Event Navigation
Wednesdays in April from 10-10:45AM
Do you have a child 18-36 months old? Are you looking for children’s activities in the East Bay area? Garden Buds is a 4-week long program where your child will meet the same friends each week. It is an opportunity to practice social skills in an outdoor setting while developing an interest in nature with hands-on activities. The classes will only use sustainable and natural materials for all craft activities. The program will provide early education in basic plant knowledge, hands-on plant based activities and seasonal experiences exclusive to the Ruth Bancroft Garden.
In April, our Garden Buds will be learning about the life-cycle of plants. April is pollinator month! The Garden Buds will look for different pollinators flying and crawling around in the Garden. Garden Buds will explore and work with natural found plant materials. Sessions will include songs, a book reading, crafts and more!
The price is per child per event series – the April series has 4 classes:
April 3rd | 10AM – All About Bees
The Garden Buds will get acquainted, learn about bees and see where they hang out in the Garden.
April 10th | 10AM – The Ants Go Marching
Ants are important pollinators! The Buds will march and sing about ants and find some plants in the Garden that are pollinated by ants.
April 17th | 10AM – Earth Day
April 22 is Earth Day. We can show that we care about the Earth when we care for its pollinators. The Buds will make a garden sign to show their support for pollinators!
April 24th | All About Caterpillars
The pipevine caterpillars should be on the pipevine leaves by this time. We will take a Garden walk and look at them in habitat. A creative butterfly wing craft will follow.
One caregiver can accompany per child. If siblings, one caregiver can attend with two children. The price is per child. The non-member price includes admission to the Garden for 1 caregiver on class dates.
