Felt Succulent Wall Garden

Create a charming, waterwise felt succulent arrangement inspired by the iconic plants of the Ruth Bancroft Garden. In this hands-on class, you’ll design a decorative piece featuring felt succulents mounted on a wooden hexagon with a hook on the back—perfect for hanging indoors on a wall or door. To preserve the color of the felt, the finished piece should be kept out of direct sunlight.

Participants will assemble a composition that includes three rosette succulents, one aloe, and one ice plant, accented with felt balls that can add either subtle pops of color or a neutral, stone-like look. Dried Spanish moss will be tucked between the plants for added texture and depth. The arrangement measures approximately 9½” x 8¼”, with the largest rosette measuring about 3″.

What to Expect

– Lots of cutting—scissors will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite pair.

– The wooden frame will not be painted during class; instead, burlap will be added as a textured backdrop.

– Each participant will receive a curated selection of felt in colors similar to the sample photo.

– You’ll also receive a full set of templates to keep, along with instructions and guidance from staff, so you can make additional felt succulents at home.

– Felt colors, felt balls, and sizes may vary slightly depending on availability, but will stay within the same overall color palette as the example shown.

This class is perfect for anyone who enjoys crafting, botanicals, or creating low-maintenance décor with a natural feel.
