Exploring Agaves: A Guided Tour with Curator Brian Kemble

Saturday, July 5 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

$20.00 – $35.00

Join us for a special tour with Brian Kemble, our Curator of 45 years and one of the leading experts on agaves in cultivation. Agaves are an iconic feature of the Garden’s collection—bold, sculptural, and steeped in cultural significance.

As you walk through the Garden’s stunning displays, Brian will share stories of some of our most notable agave specimens, introduce you to rare species, and share stories of his travels to find agaves in habitat. Learn about the many ethnobotanical uses of agaves—from food and fiber to fermentation—and get expert tips on how to successfully grow and care for these striking drought-tolerant plants at home.

Whether you’re a succulent enthusiast or simply curious about these remarkable plants, this is a unique opportunity to explore the Garden through the eyes of the curator who helped shape its living collection.

Class will proceed regardless of weather.

Cancellation and refund policy can be found here.
