The Asphodelaceae family, best known for aloes, includes some of the most architecturally striking and resilient plants in the world. With hundreds of species spread across Africa and beyond, members of this family range from compact rosettes to dramatic tree-like forms, many adapted to survive in harsh, arid landscapes.

For more than 45 years, Garden curator Brian Kemble has devoted his life to studying, collecting, and hybridizing members of the Asphodelaceae family. In this webinar, Kemble will share his deep knowledge of aloes and their relatives, highlighting species and hybrids he has worked with firsthand, and focusing on plants that thrive in our Garden.

Please note that this will be a pre-recorded webinar followed by a LIVE Q&A session with Curator Brian Kemble. (offered via Zoom)  After registration (see below), you will receive instructions and a Zoom link one day prior to the lecture.
