Saturday, August 17 @ 9:30 am - 10:00 amFree
Join long-time curator, Brian Kemble, for an early morning walk in the garden to learn about the unique Dasylirion collection. These natives of the SW United States and Mexico feature large heads of long narrow strap-like leaves, typically with saw-tooth edges. They flower in summer to early fall, with tall spires of thousands of tiny flowers which are much loved by bees. Male and female flowers come on separate plants. Common names include desert spoon and sotol.
