Join legendary curator Brian Kemble—who’s spent 45 years shaping the Garden—and horticulturist Szymon for an unforgettable deep dive into the world of cacti. This special tour highlights spectacular spring color and a closer look at columnar, barrel, and Opuntia (paddle) cacti, including their fleeting and often surprising blooms.

Together, Brian and Szymon bring decades of firsthand experience, having traveled extensively through the U.S., Mexico, and Chile in search of wild cactus populations. Along the way, they’ve documented the unique environments these resilient plants call home. Their stories—equal parts adventure and botanical insight—bring the Garden’s living collection to life.
