The Garden welcomes visits from children and they love exploring the Garden! Starting September 8th, 2021, we will offer an exciting 11 week long program for children of all ages, with activities every Wednesday at 10 am. All activities are about nature-based with a focus on plants and include plenty of time for little hands to get busy.
No drop-offs; parent/guardian must accompany children. For indoor workshops, masks required for anyone two years and older.
The Garden is continually expanding its class offerings for children. Our arts and crafts classes enable children to express themselves through art using nature and the Garden as the inspiration, medium or location. Our science and nature based classes let children learn and discover the world of plants and the environment. Sign up for our email newsletter.
We are not currently offering these at this time. We will offer a children’s field trip program for school groups, Scout troops or homeschool students. Tours are aligned to Common Core standards and NGSS. The two-hour field trip program meets the California curriculum standards for the third grade but can be adapted for students of all ages. Girl and Boy Scout groups can contact our Children’s Education Manager for a list of badges to achieve in the garden. Tours require a group of 10 or more children. To make arrangements for your group, please call the office at 925-944-9352 option #5 /#1 or email our Tour Coordinator.
