Taking Photos in The Garden

Visitors and guests are welcome to take photos of The Garden on tours for personal use and future plant identification.

Are tripods allowed in The Garden? Yes, tripods are allowed in The Garden as long as they are set up on the paths and not in the beds. You are welcome to come whenever the garden is open to the public. If you call first, Office staff can help you plan your visit to avoid group tours, special events, children’s tours, major garden renovation work, loud machinery, etc.  to ensure your visit will be satisfactory.

Professional Photographers: For an official photo shoot, an appointment should be made. Please contact the office at (925)944-9352.

Classes: Painting, photography or other classes may make an appointment to bring their group to the garden. Regular admission fee applies. Alternatively, each class member may join RBG at the student membership rate and they can return again and again to paint and take photographs in the garden.

For additional information, please contact The Garden.
