EVENT NEWS

We are pleased to announce the jurors for the 18th Annual Sculpture In the Garden

Phil Linhares, retired Curator Oakland Museum of California
Clayton Thiel, Artist and Art Professor
Suzanne Tan, Director Berkeley Art Center

In addition to working with an acclaimed jury, this year’s show

will include a $1,000 prize for Best in Show.

This one month-long outdoor exhibition is a one-of-a-kind art event in the East Bay and

Contra Costa vicinity. The Ruth Bancroft Garden is the only public garden in the region that

hosts an outdoor sculpture show of this scale and caliber. The Garden and its world-famous

collection of succulents and Mediterranean plants forms a dramatic and highly aesthetic

environment for the sculptures.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Ruth Bancroft Garden, Inc. is to preserve this exceptional example of garden design and to continue to develop its collection of water-conserving plants for the education and enjoyment of the public.
